WHAT IS A PIXEL PITCH IN A LED SCREENS?

The English words pixel, pitch or dot pitch, define the distance measured in millimeters between the centers of the pixels on a screen. The higher the pixel pitch, the greater the pixel separation. Therefore, the lower the pitch, the better the definition and resolution of the image will be in closer distances, whilst, for pitch pixels with a wider separation, we will have lower resolutions and we will have to visualize them at a further distance.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE PITCH FOR A LED SCREEN?

LED advertising screens are designed for the creation of large format screens. This is why LED modules are offered in a wide variety of pitches or pixels. Choosing a suitable pitch for your screen has a lot to do with the viewing distance and its size.

As a general rule, small pixels are used for smaller screens and larger pixels for larger screens.

VIEWING DISTANCE AND PIXEL PITCH

One of the most common doubts and one of the aspects that sparks most controversy regarding advertising led screens is the choice of pixel pitch.

Choosing the lower pixel pitch automatically can be counterproductive, not only because of the high cost of these small pixels but also because of the low brightness they have compared to others with greater separation. Hence, choosing the pitch without considering all the needs is a mistake.

To purchase the best pixel choice, it is important to be advised correctly and contrast that information with several manufacturers or LED screen retailers.

In the following graphic we show you the relation between the screen and the pixel area with the resulting image resolutions:
