First of all, you should ask yourself the following question: what goals do you want to achieve by installing an LED display? To answer this question, you should focus on the so-called SMART goals, an acronym formed by each of the initials of the features that your screen should have.
– Specific: What do you want to get out of your LED display? Raise awareness of your business or a new product? Increase sales? Improve your corporate image?
– Measurable – What KPIs or performance indicators can you choose to measure the results of installing the LED display?
– Attainable – does your ideal LED monitor fit your budget?
– Relevant: Can you offer content that suits the requirements and preferences of your ideal consumer or buyer?
– Timely – how soon do you expect to achieve your goals?
The more specific your answers are, the more and better you can focus on the price, dimensions and features of the LED display you need. For example, if you have a large budget and want to make your business known in another country, a good solution is to buy giant LED screens or billboards. On the other hand, if you want to install information screens to address the professionals in your company, there is nothing better than an indoor LED screen.
Depending on the purpose of purchasing an LED display, it can be an outdoor (digital out of home, DOoH) or indoor (in-store TV) LED display. In the case of outdoor LED displays, the budget to be spent on their purchase will be higher, for three reasons. Firstly, outdoor screens will need to be larger to ensure good visibility in long distances; secondly, they will need to be rain-proof and ready to withstand all weather conditions; and finally, they will need to be bright enough to ensure that static images and videos stand out for easy viewing, even in sunlight.
Better backlighting is one of the many advantages of buying an LED screen, which works with light-emitting diodes, rather than LCD screens, which use cathode fluorescent bulbs. In addition, there are considerable savings in the energy consumption of LED screens.
Finally, if you are considering buying an outdoor LED screen, remember that those with a matte finish are usually better than glossy screens, as they are less dazzling.
There is no discussion possible: the bigger an LED display is, the more striking the contents it emits. However, you always have to take into account the distance at which potential customers will see your digital advertising panel. Depending on the resolution, the pixels may be visible if the distance between the two is too small. To prevent this from happening, choose smaller, higher resolution LED displays when the audience is only a few meters away from the LED display.
Large format displays, starting at 45 inches, are perfect for conferences, classrooms, trade shows or events with a large audience. Smaller screens are ideal for shops and commercial establishments – hairdressers, discos, etc. – as well as hospitals.
Although the image quality and color provided by LED technology is beyond doubt, you must always choose the resolution that best suits the use that the company wants to give it. Let’s take an example: a resolution of 720p, or 1024 × 768 pixels, is ideal for regular television broadcasts, but may not be the most suitable solution for a digital signage project. Therefore, to provide better quality and a full HD experience, we recommend that you choose a resolution of at least 1080p.
